UKC CH Falling Branch Taco
is everything we could possibly ask for in a very small package. Her sire is AKC CH Farmcliff Ben of Childs Play and it's Ben that she favors in personality and spirit. Taco has her dad's head and his expression. She also inherited his love of playing games and his wildness in the show ring. When Taco settles down in a show ring she takes the ring by storm. When she doesn't she is so darned cute she still gets plenty of attention.
Taco's dam is Ravenswood Bianca whose photo you can see in our "Retired" section. Bianca's sire is the great CH Beano of Ravenswood, an own son of the immortal Beacon Sam. Bianca's dam is Ravenswood Tingle, a Meynell Turban and Beacon Jangle daughter. No doubt about this pedigree. It is one of time honored working and winning. Despite Taco's small size she shows like a big dog. She has a powerful, driving rear and can cover more ground than a little bitch has any right to cover and with less effort. Her coat is wonderfully hard, straight and flat. Her chest is as small as any bitch's we have ever spanned. There is simply no place in the ground she cannot get! Because of her small size she will never see the AKC ring which is a shame because she can hold her own in the best of company. Fortunately, the UKC does provide a place for under 12" terriers where Taco has proven she has the stuff it takes to win against much taller terriers. Her first weekend of showing earned her all of her competition wins and a Best of Breed against both champions and grand champions. At Premier, the UKC's most prestigious show, she took the under division and the judge had one heck of a time deciding between Taco and our own Zorra for WB and BW. But in typical Taco style she decided to do one of her flying leaps on the last down and back as if to say, "You can't keep me down". Regardless of her wild woman performance she finished her UKC championship and in 2 weekends showing against many of the UKC's Top Ten Jack Russell Terriers proving that size has nothing to do with quality. Taco is very much the house mouse. She gets along with all of the other bitches and demands that she MUST be in the house curled up on a snuggle ball or playing with toys. She has a way of looking at you that goes right to your heart, and when she asks for something there is no way to deny it to her. Taco was bred to CH Posey Canyon Storm Watch (Tyke) in December 2005 and whelped a litter of 2 girls and a gorgeous boy just two days after Valentines Day in February 2006. Deciding on a "husband" for Taco wasn't easy because if we could just run her through a photocopy machine and get a half dozen exactly like her we would be happy. The Taco-Tyke litter produced Falling Branch Chips one of the best structured boys we have ever seen. Chips is co-owned with Kelly Meeks-Childs and was beautifully shown by Kelly to finish his championship with two 5-point majors, a 3-point major and several extra points. Taco is a permanent fixture at Falling Branch. Her huge heart and winning personality in a little body has captivated us and everyone she meets! She may be the smallest terrier on this place but she is ALL terrier--and that is with a capital "T"!! Taco is solely owned by Liz McKinney.
